Dinned here on wednesday night and had a wonderful meal, the food was just 1st class we had the Burns menus which was well laid out, the piper was amazing and added to the theme of the night, the staff were so friendly and nice this was a great night and cant wait to go back well done chophouse!!

I have booked here as it is famous for steaks and there were no steaks on the special menu. I then opted for the fish, which was sold out. The lamb that my husband ordered was so fatty, he sent it back. We both had a very average, fatty piece of pork. We were sat next to the noisy kitchen and waited long to get our table. Not to mention the poor quality of the fishcake starter - no special tatse. The staff tried to make up for the awful food, but the evening was spoilt, it was unsettling. It turned out an expensive meal and I felt cheated.

Chop House Festival Menu

Having enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Chop House I was looking forward to their festival menu.

I was very disappointed. The menu was uninspired and I fear the restaurant took the opportunity of extra covers to lower quality. My beef was dry and the roast potato was so overcooked it was inedible. Further the wow factor of the yorkshire pudding the size of my head did not hide the fact the pudding was dry and tasteless. My partner suggested his fish was purely average.

Whilst our starters (smoked salmon and fishcakes) were nice, they were nothing outstanding and certainly didn't warrant the price.

It is a shame the food was so mediocre as the location and ambiance is lovely.

We dined at lunchtime on the special London Restaurant Festival menu, which provided a good choice for each course and included a glass of champagne for [$].The venue is superb, the service attentive, the food delicious and the wine excellent.

Three of us went to check this our for a potential birthday meal. The table was for 7.30 and the the Chop House was comfortably busy. We all had the 3 courses and wine for [$]. All three first courses were excellent, the fish cakes were the best I'd ever had, and the duck eggs were fantastic.For mains I had the 12 hour braised beef, which was huge and tender. Could have done wtih a little more seasoning though. The others had the smoked pork, which was also huge but very tasty.The desserts were not as good as the first two courses but still above average. The wine they served at the beginning was excellent, as was the bottle we ordered. We are going back for our birthday meal!
