Fab afternoon tea! Food was delicious and service was great. We were celebrating a special birthday and the staff made it extra special by providing a special birthday treat.

Tea room is set in the Sanderson's outdoor patio, but windbreak walls and heaters made it cosy. Staff was excellent as was the service. Alice in Wonderland theme was really well executed. Sandwiches were somewhat disappointing, but scones and treats were outstanding both in presentation and taste. Tea choices were varied and creative (along the Alice theme), and a fresh pot of tea offered at no extra cost. A fun and lovely afternoon treat.

Your deal stated it was £40 per person when it came to paying it was actually £48 which is a big difference when you are paying for others. I took my mum for her birthday so was too embarrassed to question this at the time but on checking my emails and your website again you are misleading customers......very unhappy. The venue/food were great though.

The food was poor, the savoury portions were small. Others were given the option to have more but we weren't and the sweets looked great but the taste was disappointing. We liked 3 out of the many choice. The option without champagne is very over priced - we just wanted to get out of there.

Spent a lovely afternoon catching up with a friend at the Sanderson's Mad Hatter's Afternoon tea. We sat in the courtyard which was pleasantly heated. Excellent service by Abigail who was attentive and friendly, as were her colleagues. The atmosphere is much more informal than other afternoon teas in London and, whilst I do enjoy some of the posh afternoon teas offered in London's classic hotels, it was refreshing to try something different. We loved the attention to detail, all in keeping with the theme. The menu is in an antique book and the sugar in a musical box. On the table was a little tray of crystal jars containing interesting and creative tea blends to sniff and make our choice. I chose the "Queen of Hearts" blend which was delectable. Our savoury plate was a superb array of interesting, delicate bites (of which we were offered more if we wanted). A tiered cake stand arrived next, laden with gorgeous pastries inspired by Alice in Wonderland: Macaroon clocks, Queen of Hearts Cookies, mushroom marshmallows and red velvet ladybirds, to name a few. Oh and not to forget the scones which were fresh and lovely too. Mad Hats off to the Sanderson for offering a high quality, yet fun and quirky alternative to the conventional afternoon tea.

good cocktails but afternoon tea is not good value for money

Good service staff were welcoming and efficient. Afternoon tea choices were explained. The menu was very imaginative and inviting, we loved the choice of teas and the way they were presented. The savouries were delicious and were replenished on request. The cake stand was very impressive and total in theme, the finishing touch of ice cream at the end was delicious. Would certainly recommend to friends.

We loved the experience. The savouries are delightful and tasty. The cakestand filled with Alice themed cakes had been carefully created to enchant. We loved the little jars of tea which we could sniff in order to make our choice. It was a super experience to be out in the courtyard of the hotel minutes from Oxford Street.

I loved it the last time, but this time was a completely different experience. The afternoon tea wasn't cake based anymore and had more sweet option. I actually left feeling like i actually hadn't had cake but just a lot of sweets. Service was good, but they keep saying someone would explain the various items to us but no one did. Personally I wouldn't go back.

Very disappointed felt as if we were dining in a staff canteen. savouries very nice but everything else far too sweet. service very poor. asked 4 times for glass of champagne
