I have been wanting to go here for some time and it started well with Staff accommodating my request for a change of cocktail flavour (original was pear which I dislike). I enjoyed the replacement but have no idea what I was drinking as the waiter said "don't ask me what's in it - I have no idea!" As it was placed in front of me. The starter of potted salmon and sourdough was very good, the main course of burger and chips was disappointing. Not the best burger I have tasted and the chips were barely warm (but as we had waited over 30 mins between starters and main I couldn't do with sending them back). There was also a problem with my husbands main course so not great all round really. The day was saved by pudding. Delicious sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and my husband chose apple and blackberry crumble which was simply presented as an individual portion in a nice deep cast iron dish with a little jug of proper custard. Yummy! Some of the tables are really close together - ours less than six inches from the one next door and the staff had, in my opinion, a bit of an attitude - almost as though we were interrupting their afternoon. All round disappointing and wouldn't rush back!

Over rated! The food was ok - set menu choice was really limited. Service was terrible - waited so long for our deserts we left without eating them. Disappointing

Fantastic, decadent, well considered, beautifully presented and interesting food. Great to see English suppliers and food being showcased so well. Rounded off with brilliant service and a lovely ambiance with the live music.

Service was exceptional - I suffer from a food allergy and am mostly left feeling embarrassed when I eat out, but our server at Roast was phenomenal. This is a restaurant I will frequent and would highly recommend

The food was, as usual, very good but the service was a let down. From the confused reception desk staff, the fact that we waited 10 minutes for our table standing there and then slow and not very attentive table side service, it was quite disappointing.

I'm normally sceptical about set menu offerings but the options were beautiful in choice and taste. I opted for smoked salmoon on toasted sourdough to start, followed by slow-roasted pork belly with mash potato and a few vegetable sides. For dessert apple and blackberry crumble topped with vanilla ice cream. Across the board it was excellent. Service as I've come to know at Roast is also excellent, ever-present but practically unnoticeable in equal measure. I would highly recommend Roast as one of London's premiere restaurant offerings.
