Great food, we dined early so not many other diners around however the atmosphere seemed to be hotting up as we left. Very attentive and friendly hosts, Good value for money and excellent food - a local secret but not for much longer

        Comments about this restaurant :

The food would have been considered really good food in the 90's or naughties, but the culinary scene in London has moved on and reached higher heights while this restaurant hasn't. Don't get me wrong, the dishes are perfectly decent and some are downright tasty, but you won't find any dishes here that will blow your mind and you'll have tasted it all before somewhere else. Currently the restaurant is ranked 10 on tripadvisor...I know the culinary scene in London very well and I wouldn't even put it in the top 100 (top 300 maybe)! For starters we chose the Lobster and Scallop Ravioli (7.5/10) and Smoked Duck Breast with Duck Liver Parfait (9/10). The mains consisted of Pan-fried Sea Bream and Soft Shell Crab (5/10) and Lamb, Crispy Spiced Pastilla, Grilled Cutlet and Slow-roast Breast (8/10). And for desserts we opted for the Pumpkin Tart with Pear Sorbet (7/10) and Chocolate Fondant, Chocolate Truffle Cake and White Chocolate Ice Cream (8/10).The service is lovely and a great example of what hospitality should be like. In total we paid [$] for the two of us (incl. two glasses of wine).

We dined at Whits on a Saturday night - we arrived early but the table was all ready and waiting for us - the service was excellent, food was also excellent - one of our party had the duck which was not as hot as it could have been - when this was mentioned the plate was taken away and replaced with a new - piping hot dish - a very pleasurable dining experience was had by all - especially as we were not rushed at all and were able to keep the table for the whole evening.
