The service was outstanding, from everyone - from the doormen, to the wait staff. The food was lovely, the champagne cocktail delightful, and even though we had a set menu (amazing value), still lots of lovely touches, like the amuse bouche and petits fours.

Went o the special set menu with choices on all 3 courses. Food was beautiful, very tasty, and a pleasant, different indian dining experience! The staff were very knowledgeable and extremely attentive, nothing was too muchtrouble. We enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating my husbands birthday and our anniversary. It was different and special. Drinks were fairly expensive!

5/5 star restaurant, the food was out of this world, from the squid, with salad and passion fruit I had for starter to the chocolate samosas I ordered for desert, every bite was heavenly delicious. Can't wait to try again!

We were extremly dissappointed with this Michelin star restaurant (we expected more !). The waiter/s were not sure of the items on menu with nuts (a set menu). Said they had to check with Chef and also the Manager will call at table to explain. They checked and 5 mins later told us that there was not any but dissappointgly the Manager never turned up then to explain. The Manager did turn up to the table later to see if all was OK but we were too busy tyring to get the very tiny portions into our belly before the dishes turned cold, so it was not the right time for us to comment.... The kids menu had ice cream for dessert (vanilla or chocolate). Our Daughter wanted chocolate and they came back in 6 mins later to say that they have only vanilla ! NOT acceptable... Toilets had only one soap dispenser working and one tap not functional (Ladies).

We had an exceptional meal via a Bookatable offer at Benares, from the initial plate of small poppadoms with chutney to the sweet treats at the end. We were booked in for the three course option which provided us with excellent choices for each course as well as a delicious champagne cocktail to start with. The portions were good and having also opted for the tasting wines to go with each dish, the whole experience was a delight. On being asked if we were celebrating anything, we replied that a few days before it had been my birthday and our wedding anniversary. Within minutes chef Atul Kochar came out to talk to us about our meal - a charming man - to be followed by two plates of sweet treats, one decorated with happy birthday, the other with happy anniversary. Overall we had a brilliant time.

The food was superb and the service was excellent. My daughter had fish and it was really very tasty. I had lamb curry which was very authentic. Kulfi and Chocolate Samosa for the pudding was very good. All meals came with lentils, rice and Naan. Food was plentiful and we did not need any more food for the day. I was so looking forward to the champagne cocktails offered in the meal deal but that was not offered to us.

Good ambience and decent food. Very nice greeting upon entry.
There appears to be no cloak room as our jackets were not offered to be storied and jackets and bags were everywhere in the restaurant creating a rather untidy look. The soft crab from the fixed menu was rather unpleasant, it tasted very crab roe like and strong. The grilled fish was very mediocre- could have been better grilled or at least crispy the only good thing about that dish was the yoghurt served with it.the other dishes were solid and good but nothing mind blowing like what you would expect from a michelin starred restaurant. Perhaps they just had a mediocre fixed menu. Although the offer was a good deal, the extras and wine literally doubled the bill so don't anticipate it to be low cost.
