Dined at 7.30pm Friday evening, a little quiet in the restaurant, but the food was faultless, easily the best seafood restaurant in manchester! The octopus salad for starters was too good! And the Monkfish main was superb!

We ate at 9.15, i have nothing bad to say at all, it was one of the most enjoyable meals we have had. The Oysters are to die for - you HAVE to try them! The waitress very informative on the dishes & the best wines. Livebait is unfortunatly not in the best location of Manchester to maximise its potential - pick it up and drop it in Spinningfileds & it would book up solid!

My sister & I dined here before going to theatre on a Wednesday night.The a la carte menu was good and a very good value set menu too on offer.We opted for a la carte,with a glass of wine each.Enjoyed our meal very much and would have lingered longer only theatre beckoned!Service was efficient & friendly. Would definitely return and recommend.

Dined at early evening, restaurant not busy.
Staff attentive, food was excellent, only slight downside was wait between starter and main due to a staff communication issue. Problem rectified to our complete satisfaction and did not detract from the overall impression and experience of the meal. Will certainly eat there again.

Food was not good, sand in the fish platter and we were left biting on grit all night. The shellfish had obviously not been washed. Not a pleasant experience and would not go back again.

Went out for a pre-valentine dinner on a Saturday night-very quiet so atmosphere didn't really get going.
Had the seafood chowder-well at least that's what it claimed to be. Only one mussel in the whole bowl then had to dig around for a few flakes of white fish-not very impressed. Husband had the cheese platter for dessert-what a joke!!! Three slices of cheese and 4 oatcakes-when he asked for more oatcakes he was presented with two more and a Ryvita!!!! I don't think diet crispbread is really restaurant standard! For the price they charge this really was unacceptable. As for the creme brulee-the sugar was burnt on the top and overall was not impressed-had better from local supermarkets. I hope they were having a bad day but as its not cheap was disappointed with the restaurant.

The atmosphere was a bit lacking and the service a little slow - however the food was very good - the salt and pepper squid was the best I have had!

Unfortunately the desert was cold and had to be sent back, however I would give them another chance because of how good the starter and main were. If front of house were at the same level as chef this would be a great experience - currently letting Chef down I am afraid

Dined at 17.45 so ambiance not great, as very few people dining. Would imagine there would be a real buzz at peak times.
