Though I've lived in Islington for over five years, somehow I had never made it to the Almeida, despite hearing many good things. So the 3 course set menu + glass of champagne for [$] deal as part of the London Restaurant Festival appealed. Went for Saturday evening dinner and enjoyed an excellent lobster bisque to start; well-cooked venison with beetroot paste as a main; finished off with the lemon posset with raspberries - wonderful texture, and delicious. Nice buzzy atmosphere, friendly service. Will return.

Decided to try this with the London Restaurant Festival Offer based on previous reviews on 6/10/11 for dinner and we were pleasantly impressed.

You knew you would get looked after from the start; great atmosphere (picture does not do it justice), great service and friendly staff as it was quick but you did not feel rushed at any point.

The food was delicious and well presented (had crab bisque and ham hock for starters, venison for main - it melted in your mouth). our espressos came with a lovely little cupcake.

Have left with the best impressions and would love to go again.

We took advantage of the London Restaurant Festival offer - three courses for £20. We were delighted to find out that it came with a free glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne per person! The food was tasty and fresh. Waiters were really polite and professional. We will definitely go back.

Wow....what can I say stumbled across this restaurant as we're new to the area and definitely will be making this our regular dining venue.

The French food was absolutely excellent and served by friendly imfomative French waiting staff were excellent.

There was a small problem with the bill but the friendly Manager sorted that out in a very professional manner.
