Nice restaurant, great service! This was our first afternoon tea and staff helped us if we had questions about menu. Tea, finger sandwishes, scones and sweets were tasty! Beautiful music were on backround in restaurant (especially peacefull pianomusic in toilets :D ). Price-value-ratio was excellent!

The staff was very freindly but the food was not the best and the restaurant it self felt a bit outdated. It was'nt bad but not that good either when the food felt quite fabricated. I do not regret going to the restaurant, but i do not think i will return.

Disappointing having been so good before. Afternoon tea for 7 people. special event. Slow service. Tea pots arrived but no milk. Took over 5 mins for the milk to arrive. Scones arrived but no jam and cream. Again over 5 mins to arrive once prompted. Scones dry but sandwiches delicious. Good regular top ups of tea.
I'm going to leave it a while until I return. Usually delighted to pay for service but Service charge 15% £18 not worth paying but weak me I did!

Hidden Gem!
After my boss decided very last minute to throw a Christmas meal for the staff, the pressure was on to find somewhere nice, reasonably priced, centrally located (in London) and not fully booked. I stumbled across this restaurant on Bookatable.com. I looked at the Chef's Festive Menu and was pleasantly surprised by the price (£24.50 per person for 3 courses). I looked at the pictures on the restaurant website and Google and saw somewhere that looked clean and presentable. What's the catch?..............There wasn't one!
On arrival through the hotel and past the amazing Christmas tree, we were greeted by the manager who was very friendly and welcoming. The venue was great and indicative of the pictures seen online. Everyone enjoyed their food, the ambience and the venue. The only small issue was receiving a Christmas pudding that was like a rock cake..... not even a steak knife would have cut through that baby! After alerting the waiter, he quickly apologised and offered to bring a new one. The new pudding came accompanied with another apology from the waiter and the manager shortly after. This pudding was lovely and moist, as it should be. The staff handled this issue with good grace and professionalism.
I would definitely visit again and absolutely recommended, especially if you are on a slightly smaller budget. Brilliant location (VERY near Holborn Station).

I would score this a 4.5 out of 5
