Nothing impressive, no atmosphere, average food and not cheap. London has many better afternoon tea options that are more reasonable.

I went to the restaurant yesterday for lunch with work colleagues to celebrate a birthday and from the moment we entered it was a shambles. The service was terrible, we were there close to 2pm and it was particularly empty but the staff were not organised. I booked an offer for London Restaurant Festival and you would expect the staff to know this by the booking but they did not. It took 5 mins for us to get the menu and later we realised we were given 2 different menus but it was still not the menu with the offer I booked. I had to get up to look for staff to request the correct one . I have to stress that their staff have to be retrained in customer service as it is something key that they are lacking. After we got the menu we were told that we could not order from more than one menu and I explained to the waiter the offer that I booked and my expectations. He was simply dismissive and simply rude. I was so shocked that I emailed the restaurant while seated to express my frustration (my first time of ever doing that). 24 hours later and I still have not had a response to my email.
We had to place the order for drinks twice and wait over 15 mins for it to arrive but we were seated very close to the bar. The food including the starter took over 45 minutes to arrive and no bread was given to us during this time. The food was just average but the whole experience left a bitter taste.
I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I organised a Christmas dinner gathering for friends. The Aston looked good from the reviews and we were equally pleased with the service. The table waiting was of a high standard, along with the food. A good menu is offered and there is something for everyone. It was a little on the quiet side but had a nice atmosphere. The decor is very chic. We will certainly return in the future.

Here for a work get together. They had messed up on the confirmed number of people attending and only placed seating for 2/3rds of the group. Took an hour for them to attempt to correct this and in the end after a very rude manager started quoting health and safety he insisted we separate from the rest of the group and sit in an alternative area. Food was delayed by 2 hours and when it did arrive was dry & tasteless. Furthermore they didn't bring the dessert as they needed the table space and refused to provide the included wine for the set meal we had booked. Senior manager continued to be rude, sexist and obnoxious throughout the evening to spite us. Not a pleasant experience ruining the evening. Very poor value for money.

Had an early evening meal before a show and the staff were outstanding in their service and friendliness, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and plentiful. We used a promotion vouucher (2for1) and this was accepted without question and so resulted in being a small bill as the set menu is only [$]for three course. Will definately visit again when in the City.
