We have always dines around 5pm. It's not too busy then. The service is excellent, you are always greeted well, not to overbearing but friendly. Unusually yesterday it seemed very busy for the time of day but we were served quickly with drinks and the food order was taken quickly. We had to wait a while for the food but it was a great opportunity to chat and watch the world go by outside. Altogether a great experience.

Very convienient for pre theatre dining

We had a pre theatre lunch which was served nicely and was delicious. The bench type seating however was uncomfortable as your seating position was too far away from the table. if you came forward and sat into the table you lost the backrest.

The starters were good - Asparagus & goat's cheese. But the main courses were poor. The mushroom risotto was very thin parcels containing a gritty paste only vaguely mushroom-like in a watery tomato sauce like from a tin of spaghetti hoops - it could have been pre-frozen and thawed. The chicken pasta was dry and tastless, requiring salt & pepper to give it any character. And I almost never put salt & pepper on food in a restaurant as the chef should get it right in the kitchen. At these prices this was a regrettable restaurant choice.

Dined at 1930 on Friday. restaurant busy but staff attentive and very efficient. Food was plentiful and well presented. Highly recommended. An excellent dining experience.

A tasty, well cooked meal & the potatoes were substituted with a green salad when we asked ,with no problem. Friendly quick service. We were there at lunchtime when there were not a lot of people, so that helped.
