We booked an evening meal to enjoy the view and night time skyline. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. It's an expensive restaurant, so I wouldn't say it's value for money, but you get what you pay for.

The staff were very friendly and extremely attentive. The location was beautiful and the food was definitely satisfactory. The dessert was the best out of the three courses and it was just a wonderful experience.

I took my husband to Galvin's for his 40th last night and we were both very impressed with the faultless service and delicious food. It felt like a real treat. We asked the wine expert to suggest wines and were both very impressed with his choices which really complemented the dishes we'd ordered. I was also really impressed with the personalised service - I booked online late the night before my husband's birthday through Galvin's website and wrote in the notes section that we would need to leave by 7.10pm (our booking was for 6pm) as we had theatre tickets. I phoned the following day just to check the booking was fixed and to request a window table and as soon as I said my name the extremely polite lady on the end of the phone remembered that we wouldn't have long to eat and said it shouldn't be a problem. And it wasn't - all the staff knew we didn't have long and ensured that we were through our meal, and had even enjoyed a little personalised, complimentary birthday desert into the mix - by 7.10pm. Wonderful - an evening to remember for sure.

We had chosen the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and would definately return with the family to celebrate another special occasion. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient but in an unobtrusive way and the food could not be faulted - even down to the marshmallows with coffee. A wonderful evening.

We dined on a friday evening as a belated Valentine's suprise as a couple. We were early so had drinks at the bar; the view is breathtaking. You can learn to appreciate london in all its glory at this height. Some staff members seemend to look down at us as if we were too young (20's) or too underdressed as we were wearing as the website states "smart-casual".

We were seated at a table next to the window and we were assigned a staff member who would look after us for the evening in terms of topping up drinks and he helped us decide on which bottle of wine to have. Both meal and atmosphere complemeted eachother as the sunset soon turned to darkness, and a little unintentional perk of the window view was that we could see sky lanterns floating through the air.

Only improvements I suggest would be to control the heating, as we were sitting next to a portable heater which was too hot to the extent that the flowers on our table began to wither over the course of the meal.

I would recommend this to anyone I know, whether its for an anniversary or a treat when visiting London. I would suggest checking the weather when booking tables as the sky seemed cloudy, it would make the meal more spectacular to eat whilst see the sun set over London!

Once in the evening & once for lunch, both very good, the wine though I felt to be rather excessive for a house wine, but thats where their profit is I suppose

We had the pleasure of dining at Galvins for lunch on a Sunday, and have to say that it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. As well as the incedible view, the food was delicious - mouth watering flavours, presented beautifully, and the perfect amount leaving us full but not bloated. The incredible service just rounded the experience off for us - the staff were awesome, made us feel welcome and relaxed, and so knowledgable when it came to helping us with food and wine choices. It was worth every penny we spent, we will definitely be going again, and have been telling everyone we know about it since. Seriously fantastic!!

We came here for my birthday. First time since the Galvins took it over - we use to eat here occassionally and go to the bar frequently.
When we booked we could only have a 7pm table and it was clear we had to leave at 9pm. We initially went to the bar where we were absolutely not allowed to sit by the window despite the seats being empty. We weren't called for dinner but when we went through we were placed in the centre of the room, not near the windows despite asking twice before we arrived.
The food started well and got worse. My starter was amongst the best I have ever eaten. For mains, if you want meat you have to have something for 2 people. We chose venison cooked 'medium'. What arrived was barely seared on the outside. The desert was honestly the worst I have ever eaten and for the first time ever I did not finish my desert. The service was pretty dire too. There were so many servers. All I was aware of was the amount of staff doing their very important job. There was constant attention at the table. I only wanted 1 glass of wine but they insisted on repeatedly filling my glass until I asked them to take the glass away. I was even accosted by a waiter on the way to the loo. Despite the number of staff we couldn't understand what most of them were saying and the service was interminable. Our 2 hour slot turned into a 3 hour slot. Afterwards we went to the bar again where we were spoken to very rudely for daring to sit by the window and our 1 simple drink took an hour due to the ability of staff to tell us off but not take our order - except the lovely Italian man.
So we spent over £300 on my birthday for a disappointing evening.

I booked for a birthday treat. Very good service, good food and lovely view (although if booking a deal you seem to get the cheap seats with a north view).
