My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception in this restaurant on the 31st March 2012. The staff were amazing, the food was fabulous and the service was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had looked at many hotel venues before deciding on a restaurant and I am so glad we did. One family of guests are determined to come back to London and stay overnight in a hotel in order to eat at Shanghai Blues! What better recommendation can you get than that!!!

I was looking for a relaxed Sunday afternoon dim sum venue for myself and two girlfriends. I found a good review on Shanghai Blues on a website I trust so I decided to give it a go, especially as they were offering 50% off food bill on Sundays. Inside it's quite dark and it's obviously more of an evening venue. We sat down and the waitress gave us the menus but did not ever return to take our order. We sat looking around for 25 mins trying to catch a waitress's eye but eventually had to almost physically grab one. She said she'd be back in a moment but took another 5 mins before returning although the restaurant was not busy and there were about 6 waiters on duty. She also forgot to bring our drinks until I gave another meaningful look around the restaurant which reminded her. The food was tasty and once they had taken the order it all came quickly but we had to sit there waiting for so long we were too hungry to chat and enjoy ourselves. It's only worth giving this place a go if you're happy to get up and run after a waitress around the restaurant every time you need one. Or serve yourself?

Wonderful food; in fact the best Dim Sum I've ever had and I travel to Asia, and always Hong Kong, twice a year and have done so for over twenty year. The dim sum in the chilli soup is eye wateringly (literally)good. Service is excellent; food imaginative and stunning. A great experience (my 7 visit) and terrific value for money.

Booked for 10:30pm after theatre - booking was accepted.
Part way into starters they informed us that we must have our main course NOW - the kitchen was closed.
We were delivered main course that had been waiting for us.
Staff did not care to the point of ignorance - they wanted us out of there.
Complaints were ignored.
One to avoid then - very disappointing.

Booked online, very quick and easy to use system. Very attentive staff, looked after us very well didn't feel rushed and the waitress was happy to help us choose from the wonderful menu. Surroundings are lovely, food amazing, beautifully prepared, and presented. Although i did think it was a little pricey you definatly get what you pay for and i would highly recommend it.
