It felt like the Dining Area was a Back Room, It was drafty, cold and rather dull! I'm not sure if the homage restaurant is the normal location for afternoon tea?..but there was a room nearer the front of the hotel which was more grandeur, luxurious and brighter, much more appropriate for a relaxing afternoon tea. The service was very slow, they couldn't accommodate our request for no butter in the sandwiches very well, we were given a whole load of plain ham sandwiches, mustard missing! this appeared to be the only option. We asked the head waiter what was in one sandwich, (appeared to be cucumber with sauce?) he didn't know, he came back 20mins later advising the chefs had already left!! (Sandwiches obviously pre made) So could offer no alternative. Not great! but they did offer extra cakes.

We booked Afternoon Tea at the Waldorf for 5 people. Staff were friendly but not efficient. We waited 10 minutes at the table without anyone coming to see to us. Tea was brought without any milk. A used plate was taken away but not replaced. One of our party arrived late, was given cutlery but not provided with any further service/food. Each time we had to try to attract the attention of staff, which was very difficult. Payment took about 10 minutes. Our waitress had a very limited grasp of English. All in all, it was disappointing.

We came for afternoon tea. We do this annually and the Waldorf, despite costing about the same as many 5 star hotels in London is not as good. It's perfectly reasonable- the tea, sandwiches and cakes are nice but the ambience of the Homage restaurant is not great (it desperately needs a makeover) and service is poor. Try the Grosvenor on Park Lane!

Very mediocre. The gluten free option was very uninspiring. Over priced and disappointing.

Having emailed in advance to check if my dietary requirements could be met plus making the booking over a week in advance, I was disappointed to a) having to explain to more than one member of staff that we had requested a special menu b) having to wait quite a while before being attended to c) being told the chef hadn't been given enough notice about our request hence why there was a delay. I was then told that because the chef hadn't enough notice I would be given a salad as my sandwich alternative. Thankfully they still made my husband sandwiches which were pleasant enough avocado, hummus etc. My salad however was a bowl of green leaves with a few bits of salty cucumber and a little spring onion. Really poor and completely unnecessary. We were then given a selection of cakes and scones which were ok (have to say I make better) and a beautiful plate of fruit. The tea was also very nice.
I showed both the emails I received regarding our booking to show my correspondence about my requests. They did apologise and we were not charged for the bottle of champagne we also ordered. However, this was a birthday treat and it was really disappointing that in spite of trying to prevent difficulties, we still had to deal with them. I asked if my requirements could be met so we could have a treat. I would have booked somewhere else (like the Ritz or The Langham who offer vegan afternoon teas) if you had given me a more honest reply to my query. I asked at the Waldorf as we were staying there that night and it made sense to have tea there as well.

Afternoon tea in a lovely room with a very nice relaxed atmosphere. All of staff are helpful and friendly, the ladies checking the coats were very helpful when I lost my scarf they promptly found it for me. The scones, sandwiches and cakes were delicious and the teas were lovely. There were 6 of us in the booking, 3 adults and 3 children, and we had a large table with plenty of room for us all. 1 1/2 hours was plenty of time to drink, eat and relax. They reduced the children's bill by 50%, which was an unexpected surprise. I would defiantly come here again. We all had a wonderful time and took boxes of cakes home too. Thank you very much to everyone there who made our afternoon a wonderful one.

Very pleasant afternoon in the Waldorf Hilton having the Afternoon Tea Package.. Nicely presented and much more than we could eat.. The scones served warm were particularly nice.. Would go again before an evening theatre show.. Handy location very close to Covent Garden..
