Very good. Order the duck, best to do that when you reserve the table! Green tea is excellent.

More about Amaya

Michelin starred and multi-award-winning Indian restaurant Amaya produces sophisticated Indian grills in exclusive Knightsbridge. A stunningly chic interior with glazed atrium, enhances the crystal chandeliers, open kitchen and stylish bar.

Amaya's impressive rosewood and sandstone interior is drenched in natural light through the elegant atrium during the day. By night, the focus shifts to the open kitchen where spotlit chefs cook the unique Amaya menu.

Using traditional Indian cooking techniques, the roots of Indian cuisine are brought into the modern era, including fine ingredients like venison and lobster. Amaya London has a wide range vegetarian dishes, while the cosmopolitan dessert menu includes fruit and no-sugar dishes.

Like sister restaurant Chutney Mary, Amaya's wine list is compiled by award-winning and best-selling wine buyer Matthew Jukes. The open kitchen uses specialist Indian grilling techniques and complex marinades to produce sophisticated cuisine designed to be shared. Amaya Indian restaurant is a 4-minute walk from Knightsbridge Tube Station.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, the food is presented in a delightful way and is very good. I would say it's a bit on the expensive side, but this seems to be average in this part of London. Other than that, had a wonderful experience.

The restaurant was beautiful and the food was amazing. We both got the tasting menu and my husband got the wine pairing with it but it didn't seem to be delivered with the food. The first course came with no mention of wine. when we asked, the server said he was waiting for my husband to finish his drink that was ordered when we arrived to the restaurant. Around course four or five, the wine didn't pair at all with the food. When we mentioned it to the server he said the order of the dishes had changed and the wine was intended for the last and the next course but not the one we were currently eating. Finally, we ordered coffee to go with the dessert course but that was also not delivered until we had almost finished the desserts.

We've dined at a number of Michelin starred restaurants around the world. We thought the cost of dinner and the related drinks was a bit on the high side. We've had similar quality meals for a lower cost at other 1 star restaurants.

For the price, I'd never do the wine pairing again. But the food we'll be back for anytime we get to London.
