Nice atmosphere & decor. Very friendly staff and welcoming for kids. Thanks you! Only slight drawback - wine list is a bit thin, Bloody Mary was very good though

More about Geales - Notting Hill

Described as ‘pulling on the heartstrings of nostalgia’ by acclaimed critic Fay Maschler, Geales Notting Hill offers superbly fresh fish and seafood. Established in 1939, lovingly restored original features evoke quintessential British charm.

Branded as London’s ‘posh fish and chippy’, the Geales menu offers hearty comfort food with a sophisticated edge. Sourcing from sustainable fish stocks, perfectly grilled fillets sit next to the nation’s favourite, cod in crispy batter. Tired British classics are also brought up to date with contemporary twists, like the Geales restaurant signature fish pie, or prawn cocktail.

Continuing the British theme, classic desserts at Geales Notting Hill include bread and butter pudding with Baileys custard, all washed down with dandelion and burdock or cream soda.

Subdued yet chic, Geales London offsets glossy grey walls and black leather benches with glittering antique mirrors. Notting Hill Gate Tube Station is just 2 minutes’ walk away.

I have fond memories of their fish and chips. I live in America and found myself entering the restaurant at 10pm.

At first the hostess wanted to turn me away, but she convinced the chef to turn on the equipment once again.

I had a brilliant fish and chips (COD) and a Stella, and mushed peas.

I left satisfied

Geals is absolutely amazing

Fine dining and gourmet fish dishes. But their fish n chips is epic. Absolutely the best in London. We had their Platter Best of the west Fish n chips. (Be really hungry before) with Cod, Haddock, Hake and Plaice. Fabulous.
And a apple tart to dessert even if there was no real space for it.
The service was really nice. Super sweet. Caring. Fun.

Friendly efficient service, attractive environment, excellent music. Good food, especially the fish. London prices: but it is in Notting Hill.

Food is sverage
Fish snd chips small portions and overpriced.

Very nice little brasserie, lovely decor, seating outside (weather permitting), simple good menu. Vegetable soup is very nice and wild mushroom risotto very tasty ! My friend had whitebait to start with (nice) and fish and chips for main course - this wasn't memorable...
However good value especially with Groupon voucher

Fabulous whitebait and lovely fresh cod...really nice lunch. The service was a bit slow this time but the waitress was very nice and apologised for the wait.
