The German sommelier made our evening; we didn't order a bottle of wine, but asked him to recommend a glass for each of our courses. His explanation of his choices and the wines made it a memorable dinner. He enjoyed imparting his knowledge and there was never a feeling that we were unsophisticated by asking. More people should make use of sommeliers.

This was our second visit to the Pearl at lunchtime and compared to a lot of restaurants there was loads of choice for a very reasonably priced menu. Also there are many wines to choose from and again reasonably priced wines too.

we dined in the evening and we could not fault the food. The scallops were amazing, as was the lamb.
