Took a client to lunch. Not TOO loud. Very pleasant surroundings. Considering how often I eat out, I was surprised not to have had the lamb variety "Hogget".... Will definitely have it again..... It was EXCELLENT..... Try it if you haven't already!!!

Early evening dining following immediately after work with colleagues celebrating 2011 achievements.The whole experience from booking to finishing our coffee was a pleasure. The quality of the food, drink and level of service means we will be back.

The whole meal was spoilt because of the cold wind blowing through the bar dining area. This could so easily be fixed by putting a catch on the door that constantly swung open so that we had to take it in turns to get up and close it constantly.

an unexpected disaster

I eat at JB almost weekly but took friends for Sunday lunch. Starters were excellent, Sea bass was fine as was the roast pork. Two of us ordered the special- rabbit which was an ugly recooked casserole served in a French soup bowl - impossible to eat with a knife and fork and impossible to distinguish the content which was listed as pollenta. I was too polite to send it back in the company of guests. I am now wary about further recomendations especially at [$]a head.

Dined at 1800 - excellent service and extremely good meal- good atmosphere. Restaurant is spoiled to a certain extent by out of date and inadequate toilet facilites

Eaten here many times for business and with friends and been very pleased. Last occasion, however, was a Friday night from 18.00 and the noise and raucous behaviour in the bar penetrated the dining room to the detriment of our enjoyment of the meal. Three first time guests said they would not return, despite otherwise being satisfied. One is a regular business user of Eurostar and Kings X so that is not good for Betjeman Arms. A pity as distinctive venue, good wine selection and decent food.

12 in the group -gave information that we were between matinee and train to catch at 7pm-we were 10 minutes late but table waiting ,prompt attention and freshly cooked meals on the table at 1810 with drinks -perfect and did not feel rushed.
wonderful menu -everybody was happy
