A true hidden gem, Four O Nine produces innovative modern European cuisine with global accents, alongside decadent cocktails. Accessed via a private entrance on Landor Road, this classy neighbourhood restaurant has a charming al fresco terrace.

Four O Nine London has an enticing candlelit dining room with cosy, romantic tables and an intimate ambience. Classically French in style, Four O Nine Clapham oozes relaxed sophistication, married with sleek, contemporary design.

Blending classic and innovative creations, the Four O Nine menu features delicacies like roast hake with mussels, samphire, saffron, orange and basil ravioli. Exotic creations like ginger and honey glazed duck breast with Asian greens and sesame broth accompany classic favourites like the legendary triple cooked chips with paprika aioli.

Sweet decadences include the sumptuous tiramisu with tiramisu cocktail shot and cherry coulis, while dessert wines and a classy wine list provide perfect accompaniments. Clapham North Tube Station is opposite 409 restaurant.

Great service, and the food could not be faulted.

Candlelit atmosphere was lovely, although I think they have crammed a few too many tables in there. If you are sitting in one of the small middle tables you feel a little bit like you're marooned in the middle of a crowd.

I would definitely go back though.

Beautiful little candlit restaurant in Clapham with cosy, intimate feel. Cocktails were lovely and food was good, although chef needs to season a little more. We were without drinks for a long while and service was fairly slow, although waiters were charming and friendly. I'd return but would expect slightly more attentive service!

We dined at 8pm on a Thursday night, food was great and the cocktail of the day was fun and innovative and most importantly tasted surperb,so much so we had a couple of those before we got onto the wine! Food as usual was brilliant as always.Service, timing between courses all spot on, love it!

We dined at 7pm, there was a group of 12 of us. Thankfully we had the table all night so we sat and languished over our amazing food and lovely drinks. After dinner cocktails were a particular favourite and I strongly recommend the triple cooked chips - worth a lifetime on the hips!! The only thing I would say is that the staff were a bit casual - particularly topping up drinks regularly - a few times we really had to flag someone down to order more drinks or top up the wine. But it was very busy, and everything else was amazing so we could forgive them that!
