Generally the ambience is very conducive to a relaxed and charming atmosphere. Lovely pianist playing in the background. Food generally good with the exception of my portion of chips with the cod. They were clearly frozen out of a packet and hard. Ruined the display and taste of the rest of the food. I'm also quite certain I was charged for the complimentary Champagne that was part of the star deal despite querying this with the waiter. He said I was paying £75 and when I got home I realised it was £84!

Very impressed as the food and service was excellent and the pianist playing in the back ground was most enjoyable. We had the special pre theatre meal which is such excellent value and included a glass of champagne. I would highly recommend dining there.

Returned to the Montagu after a previous great experience. Booked through bookatable and had the £25 per peron for 3 courses plus a complementary glass of champagne. Although the choice from the a-la-carte is restricted the food left on offer is nothing short of amazing and probably the best value for money I have ever eaten. From arival to leaving the service was excellent and our waitress Lena was very very nice, happy to chat but knowledgeable about the food at the same time. Overall another fantastic meal and will definitely be returning, hopefully for the chefs table next time and will recommend to all my friends.
Thank you The Montagu

My friends and I received a warm welcome, and the service was excellent. Staff were on hand to explain the options available and made suggestions, which proved to be spot on! Eating lunch without worrying about restaurant imposed time restrictions is always a pleasurable experience. I would definitely recommend the venue to others.

Lovely setting, excellent food and very good value. Watch out for the hefty 'discretionary' service charge, which rather took the shine off the evening.
