Afternoon Tea is a lovely experience, We took my mum as a Birthday treat and we were drowning in tea and cake by the time we left! The Ritz decor is amazing and the service is great, definatly recommend it! the only disappoinment is they don't allow you to take any cakes home with you, which they do allow at the Savoy, but this is just a small personal moan and should by no means put you off...go and enjoy it;s a lovely few hours!!

It was a very nice experience, service was excellent, waiters were very attentive but they weren't in your face all your time so that made the atmosphere relaxed. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were excellent, Trifle was great and they were topping up the food regularly. Excellent value for money, a must try.

I have been to the savoy hotel for afternoon tea and the service was definately better. They also asked us if we wanted to take anything home with us and offered to wrap it. when we asked at The Ritz we were told quite firmly "NO" although they gave my friend a momento of her birthday in the form of a small cake which was rather a nice touch. Overall a pleasant experience but I would say the Savoy had the edge.
