Indigo Restaurant is housed within a 5-star hotel, and holds 2 AA Rosettes. A relaxed, chic setting, Indigo is 5 minutes' walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Offering creative and contemporary European dining in Covent Garden, the Indigo Restaurant dining room offers expansive windows and an attractive mezzanine seating area. Rich flavours run throughout the Indigo menu, with pressing of ham hock, rabbit and Agen prunes, and chestnut ravioli with braised red cabbage. For something lighter and healthier at Indigo, there are warming soups and the chance to make up your own salad from a selection of the fresh, crisp ingredients.

As well as a well-sourced wine list, the dessert menu at Indigo Covent Garden experiments with exciting flavours such as treacle tart with goat’s cheese ice cream and lime syrup, and coriander marinated pineapple with mandarin sorbet and mint tulle.

Within the award-winning One Aldwych Hotel, Indigo London offers a quaint Sunday brunch, accompanied by a movie showing.

We intended to have an evening pre-theatre meal but arrived early enough to have the a la carte menu.

The food was innovative and caused a little concern initially but we found something to order.

The starter was not what we expected but was very tasty and good quality. For two of our party the main course was good but the third had the Veal Holstein which was most unsatisfactory. The meat was tough and undercooked and was quite inedible.

The chocolate dessert was daunting and each portion was enough for three. This was off-putting and resulted in the dessert not being enjoyed.

Overall not an experience we would wish to repeat and we will not be going there again.

I would not visit the restaurant again

We had a table booked at 10pm after seeing a show. Looked like a great restaurant. However, my daughter found a long strip of cling film in her starter (half of which she had already chewed) which put us all off eating. The manager was very good about about it and offered us free drinks. However, I don't think we will be visiting the restaurant again and I will probably won't recommond to friends either.

Food was very ordinary but the service was excellent. Turned up at 9.30 for a 11 p.m. booking because we'd walked out of the theatre at the interval because the show was so bad. We were greeted courteously and seated straight away and even given the post theatre menu once we'd asked for it.

The pre-theatre dining offer was somewhat limited and for "spicy" read tasted of curry powder. The amounts varied; the fish dish was small while the spicy chicken was too much. However, the serving staff were very pleasant and helpful and the wine was excellent.

We used the easy on line booking system for their pre-theatre menu. It had excellent food choices, was extremely good value and served with aplomb within the requested short time scale available to us. An excellent experience - again!
