Enjoying praise from culinary authorities Harden’s and The Good Food Guide, Bleeding Heart has served delicious modern French cuisine since 1983. Timeless bistro-style elegance in the dining room is offset by the charming cobbled courtyard.

Intense aromas and rich flavour combinations dominate the Bleeding Heart menu, whilst a luxurious dessert menu is the epitome of Parisian elegance. Simple yet delicious, Bleeding Heart favourites include smooth foie gras terrine with port jelly and homemade pistachio brioche, or a delicate lobster risotto. Sweet flavours include macaroon au citron with limoncello sorbet.

A selection of dining rooms at Bleeding Heart restaurant range from the cosy library, to the alluring hues of the red room. Met my daughter for an early evening meal (6.30pm). Very convenient location for both of us. Restaurant not full at that time and the atmosphere was very good but I could imagine it might get a bit noisy when full as the tables are quite close. However for us it was a very good experience and we hope to return.

Really nice venue, freindly attentive French staff. Always a lovely place to go to.
The menu choice was limited but that's Valentine Day, always a struggle to find a good meal at reasonable price (their a la carte menu is excellent). Super wine list. I really recommend this as a place to dine.

Went to celebrate my birthday last night with a group of ten. It's a lovely venue and they are very welcoming at the door. Very good for romantic dinners as well as large groups. Table was very comfortable, service was attentive and prompt. The wine was great, wonderful NZ sauvignon blanc, decent NZ pinot noir. The food started out well with a delightful salmon amuse bouche. I had the seared foie gras as a starter and that was quite nice. But the main was very dismissable - a shared chicken platter that looks very impressive as they carve it for you - it was very dry and not particularly flavourful. Should definitely have not been cooked for as long as it was. The chocolate and hazelnut roulade we had for dessert was similarly disappointing. It tasted like something you could have picked up at Sainsburys. All in all a fun night due to the setting, the wine and the company. Could have been brilliant if they would do more about the food.
