The produce was treated almost reverentially - as little as possible was done to each ingredient to let each shine - very nice!

Excellent service in a busy, buzzy restaurant! Food simply done but good. Only disappointment was the lack of wines between £20 to £30 a bottle. [$]

We had lunch, service was relaxed but you'd struggle to eat 3 courses in the 2 hours allowed. Starters on set menu were small but well flavoured. Unfortunately the main course fish was very over seasoned and my husband found it inedible. He was offered free dessert but the returned meal appeared on the bill until we queried it.Wine list was comprehensive with a good range of styles and prices .

The table was booked at 5pm for pre-theatre, we had plenty time, were not rushed, even though table was reserved only until 6.30.
Did not feel pressured at all and yet the food was at a lovely, relaxed pace.

Food didn't live up to expectations. 3 courses and a cocktail [$] was OK value for money. Great service, helpful and friendly staff.

Evening meal. We eat out in London every week at least 3 times per week so have a lot to compare with - very slow and indifferent service. Table not ready for over half an hour - no free drinks offered in meantime. The cocktails we had were at an eye watering price even for "smart" London venue ... Food OK but can do a lot better at this level. Just had that niggling feeling that the restaurant was being gracious in allowing us to occupy their hallowed site for a couple of hours. In summary, trading on an old reputation. The competition is hot out there Mr Hix!!

First time at this restaurant. Overall, they tried but have room for improvement hence the 4 out of 5 rating. The food was excellent though, always wanted to try lobster and had the chance here, beautifully prepared. The restaurant was cold due to air conditioning which they turned off after people moaned. Paid for a special anniversary treat for my wife, which they got wrong as they thought it was for a birthday. When we explained to the waitress, she said "at least we tried". Given that I paid for it, would have expected a better answer. Overall, if you want to go somewhere for nice food, then you can't go too wrong here

This was a near perfect place to celebrate with friends over Sunday lunch. The dining space has a style which marries the informal with the sophisticated. The menu has a dazzling line-up of traditional British fare recreated for the 21st century; this encourages multiple future visits! The wine list looked extensive. The service was friendly and informative but not intrusive. My only reservation was the presence of background music, but the sound level was not inappropriate. The whole experience was most agreeable, special even.
