I booked an early evening meal. Staff were very friendly. Very Good food quality and choice. Prices were slightly high but reasonable based upon quality of food. A really pleasant french ambience.

Manchester Printworks shopping centre is home to the flagship Café Rouge. Set over 2 floors, Café Rouge has the friendly atmosphere of an authentic Parisian brasserie, with a traditional French menu.

As part of the nationwide chain of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Boasting high ceilings, sweeping staircases and an al fresco dining area, Café Rouge – Printworks is within walking distance of Manchester tram and bus services.

Great food but awful lighting

The restaurant was lovely, unfortunately for us 'oldies', the menu was very hard to read in the low lighting. I know the restaurant Couldn't help it, but the pair of couples next to us were very loud and annoying, I suppose you have to put up with that though the tables were very close. The service was however very good and the food was cooked to perfection.

We have been to Cafe Rouge before in several locations, including the Deansgate Branch, and indeed we had already been to Cheshire Oaks for lunch only last week. As always the service was efficient and friendly and the meals quickly served. We were slightly disappointed with our experience at the Printworks. Firstly the steaks were not as tender as usual. But, and this our fault, not yours, the venue was very noisy. Partly because of the type of building it was in, but also because it was full of women talking in loud voices because they were on their way to the MEN - but then we were two of them!! Will certainly come again at a quieter time. Thanks to all the staff for their service.

Celebrated my Daughters 18th Birthday at Cafe Rouge in Printworks, Manchester. The staff were all very friendly & even put some balloons up & 18th decor on our table & even though the restaurant was extremely busy,the waiting on staff were very attentive with us.We all enjoyed the food & found the prices to be very reasonable.A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

We always book Cafe Rouge before going to the MEN because of its location. The food never disappoints although on the night we went it was that hottest October day so it was very busy and they mixed up my husband's meal. Service was also slower than usual but it didn't affect our evening as we had plenty of time. The staff are always pleasant.The whole ambience is perfect. The food is lovely and we particularly recommend the Bouillabaisse which was to die for.

Dined prior to the Dolly Paton Concert at Manchester MEN
Arrived in plenty of time but Restaurant was very busy and staff struggled to cope
Meal wasn't up to usual standard (Steak VERY tough)and had to ask for my side order dishes - they eventually arrived half way into the meal
VERY slow service - had to rush meal to get to concert
However have been to this restaurant before and had better experiences so will probably visit again but not as a pre-concert venue

usually we all enjoy cafe rouge but this time was different we had send one meal back twice and a quiet member of our group ordered fish cakes yet got salmon and cheese on toast unfortuntly this person did not say so until we had left i will go to this brand of restraunt again but not the print works one. to some up it was terrible
