More about Café Rouge - Chelmsford

Chelmsford Café Rouge serves delicious bistro-style French cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is also an outside seating area and Chelmsford Rail Station is a 9-minute walk away.

As part of the nationwide chain of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Close to the town centre, Café Rouge is within a 10-minute walk of Chelmsford Central Park.

we dined early evening and were very impressed with the food and the service. the duck in particular was excellent. I did find the green beans slightly underdone but still edible

Our favourite restaurant by far where we feel welcome as a familly. We always go around 6-7pm and the food is great and the steaks a personal favourite ( try the Cafe Rouge Sauce ). The Kids menu is fantastic and they give out drawing kits for my 8 and 5 year olds. We use Tesco clubcard vouchers and this just adds to the great value.
