Joe Allen's has been consistently excellent for nearly 30 years, never had a bad meal, never had bad service and it's always the 1st place I choose to go in London when eating out or entertaining clients

Service and atmosphere great, pre-theatre meal good value but presentation of main course poor, it looked like it had just been thrown on the plate with a token leaf.

Excellent service with very good food - although we had booked the deal it was no problem to the restaurant that we all then decided to go a la carte. Friendly bar staff and as the first arrival I was not made to feel uncomfortable whilst waiting for my friends. Waiting staff were efficient and we were not rushed at all - having not met up for a while there was a lot of chat on our table but the staff did not harry us at all.

I think my star rating says it all! I booked J A's based on happy memories of 20 years ago, I was not disappointed! The service was even slicker, the food just " my cup of tea" ( I am a fussy eater & don't eat red meat & heavily-spiced food) & the whole experience superb. The lovely Paul only added to it. Great!

Food was not as good as it could be for the price, as a whole over charged for food that you could get for much cheaper

Having often visited the area to attend functions at Covent Garden,we have struggled to find somewhere appropriate to eat .. but not now! We were recommended to try Joe Allens and it fulfilled all our expectations., We enjoyed the ambience, the food was good and the service and efficient. We will certainly visit again.

Joe Allen's always has a good pre-theatre menu which is good value for money. I like the idea that you can order wine by the glass, carafe or bottle.
