The food was luke warm and the four chips were hard. The peppercorn sauce was watery and thr service was poor. Was as if the staff were unsure what they was doing. Drinks were very expensive too.

Hotel is in a nice location, but that's where it ends. Food was very disappointing. Plates were cold so food didn't stay hot for long. Dessert was a joke. The exotic fruit salad with chef's special sorbet was looked like tinned fruit with vanilla ice cream and four British cheeses was actually 3 with a slice of quince.

It was a lovely restaurant with a great ambience. The food was great and the portions just right so you didn't feel over full; which is often the case when consuming three courses. The only critiscm I would have, is that we were not asked what we wanted to drink at the table and when we did they were very slow in coming.

The staff were welcoming, the venue wasn't inspiring but comfortable I started with the hot duck salad which was delicious the main problem there was only one waiter and the time waiting for the main course which was steak meant it was on the cool side when served
