Serving sumptuous Turkish delicacies, Sofra Covent Garden presents a character-filled setting in Theatreland. As well as a tranquil roof garden, a greenhouse-style dining room is adorned with lush suspended hanging baskets.

The Sofra menu offers a fantastic range of choices, which are ideal for sharing to sample a variety of flavours. Traditional Turkish dishes such as lamb meatballs and lahmazza fuse perfectly with a wider range of international cuisine, like grilled succulent Malaysian prawns. Falafel and salad combinations are just the beginning of the vegetarian options.

Separate champagne and wine lists, as well as house specialty desserts like palate cleansing Su Muhallebisi, offer a decadent end to a meal at Sofra restaurant. Tantalising cocktails also offer a touch of glamour.

Presenting a selection featured on BBC’s Materchef, Sofra London offers a contemporary setting and delicious traditional cuisine. The Theatre Royal in Covent Garden is only 2 minutes’ walk away.

On Wednesday 2nd May we went there to celebrate a B-day and we were amazed by the service provided by the staff, friendly and kind are not enough to describe it. Besides of feeling confortable we felt like the staff was very concerned about our stay in the restaurant. Also they helped us with the cake wich was an absolute surprise for our friend.

Keep it that high guys. Excellent customer service!!!

Dropped on for lunch with an old friend after a recommendation from another friend. Busy Saturday lunchtime but offered a choice of tables. The waiters were very friendly and courteous. It was excellent value at [$] for starter and main course and a drink. Coffee was extra but it was good and we were given more coffee without asking and without charge.

Just "happened" on this place last Saturday evening. Queued for about half-hour (with lots of others) for a table. Complementary glass of white plonk eased the wait. At the table we had two lots of bread and dip served between placing order and starters arriving. Expected to be charged, but "no" - nice welcome gesture. My squid was fine, but would have benefitted from a touch of sweet chilli sauce instead of tartare which accompanied. My rib-eye steak was delicious - possibly the best I've ever tasted. Wife's stuffed aubergine reported as excellent. Easy to see just why it was so busy. One minor minus point, we ordered EFES (no Light or Dark available), but got Bud first time. Managed to force it down, with lots of ice. EFES came with successive order, but these, like the Bud, were really not cold enough.

Saturday, 6pm. Sofra was very busy, service was good but food was really disappointing. I am sure there are many better Turkish restaurants in London.
