Good friendly service, food well presented and very tasty but left you wanting more. The sides a little too pricey as the main is served without any notable vegetables. Desserts fabulous!

More about Northbank

Crafting cosmopolitan British cuisine with quaint Cornish accents, Northbank offers sleek city dining. Offsetting the crisp, contemporary dining room, a bright and breezy al fresco terrace offers picture-perfect views of the River Thames.

A refined selection of dishes comes courtesy of Head Chef Peter Woods, who has worked with industry names including Marco Pierre White and at Pierre Koffmann’s 3-Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Tante Claire. Rich, hearty flavours are weaved through the Northbank menu, featuring favourites like tempura-battered Brixham cod, or loin of Exmoor venison with red cabbage and poached pear.

Spanning from silky Cornish real ales to eclectic New York-style cockails, the Northbank London bar offers a fashionable selection. A chic bar menu also offers delicious sharing platters and time-honoured British classics.

A smart yet understated setting, Northbank Blackfriars features cosy leather booths, retro décor and a super-slick bar. Mansion House Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

I booked for initially 6 on an offer. I wished to increase the numbers & they were very accommodating. The location is excellent with views over the Thames to the Globe & Millennium bridge. The service was attentive but not intrusive, food excellent and good ambiance

We dined at 6: lovely view of sunset over the river. Food was exactly what we expected, and portion size generous - we didn't really need the side dishes. Service was friendly but discreet, relaxed but efficient (we were in plenty of time to stroll over the Millennium Bridge for the Globe Theatre's evening performance). We'd happily go there again.

we ate at 1p.m , seated in a very comfortable booth, with great views of the river and the South Bank.

The food was delicious and imaginative.
We were able to sit outside for coffee at the end.

We look forward to a return visit.

We booked the table for 1830 and it was great watching the world go by and London lighting up, while enjoying good food and wine
