Excellent food but service a bit slow

We ate in the evening and had a good table at the back of the room with a view into the kitchen. The menu was interesting and had more vegetarian options than most restaurants. the food was very good and the service charming. my only gripe was that service was a bit slow.

We ate early evening and although full we were made to feel special and as if we were the only diners. All the staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The cuisine was of the very highest standard, particularly the venison and the quail. The cheeseboard, too, is to be highly recommended. A really special and memorable evening.

Warm welcome. Wonderful aroma of truffles as we entered the restaurant. Delicious food. A few minor slip-ups during service (i.e. waiter removed wine glasses without asking before my husband was finished).

Brilliant service - we are a fussy and difficult lot ranging in age from 17 to 90 but they managed to keep us all happy and sort out all are different diets.

We booked for dinner at 8.30pm on a Saturday night. We were greeted warmly and offered drinks on arrival. The service was attentive, but there were shoddy elements throughout the evening. Starters were mixed up and we had to correct the waitress on our respective orders. Our main courses arrived at slightly different times. The kitchen had to be checked to ensure two of the main courses were on their way. There was a long wait between courses and we had to prompt for further wine. We found the service too slow to order coffee so asked for the bill instead, which was a shame. When leaving, the coats and jackets originally offered to us were not ours, so the attendant brought out all the coats so we could pick ours out from the selection.
Could be a great place if these attentions to detail were sorted out.
