More about Champor-Champor

Boasting rave reviews from Time Out, Champor-Champor offers timeless Asian cuisine, specialising in Thai-Malay dishes. Eccentric and colourful décor gives the dining room endless character, and the wine list has its own individual appeal.

The Champor-Champor menu reflects a mix and match style, featuring a range from banana curry to Malay-style sirloin steak. The Malaysian favourite of beef rendang proves popular, with beef cooked in coconut milk and a blend of herbs. The braised shitake mushrooms with seaweed, light soy and crunchy toasted pine nuts is a tempting vegan option. For dessert at Champor-Champor restaurant a creative green tea and pistachio parfait is almost irresistible.

Brightly coloured walls with clashing wallpapers and colours complement the mismatched feel of the dining room. A spectacular array of tribal masks hangs from one wall, while a range of eclectic lightshades hangs overhead at Champor-Champor in Southwark. A wine list offers an assortment of deep reds and crisp whites as well as a Japanese plum wine.

Less than 10 minutes from London Bridge and only a 5-minute walk from London Bridge Tube Station, Champor-Champor in London is great for a taste of something different.

The restaurant was easy to find and a very short walk from London bridge station which made it very convenient to get to. We were early for our reservation but was promptly seated. We took sometime to order drinks and the waitress who was taking our order gave us a slight attitude when we asked for tap water first. We ordered one drink in the end. The test of the wait staff was great. Food was fresh and the taste great. Dessert was interesting especially the Tom yum brûlée. The steam taro with black rice pudding and mango ice cream was delicious probably one of the best fusion type dessert I've tasted but you probably have to like Asian food enough to enjoy it. Dinner ended with a great cup of filter coffee that was perfect! It does get very noisy if the restaurant is full and conversation becomes a bit difficult.
