More about Tramshed

Stripping back dining to its most simple, Tramshed offers a unique chicken & steak concept from industry giant, Mark Hix. In this edgy, cavernous space, a mezzanine floor features artwork from the notorious artist, Damien Hirst.

Offering arguably one of the simplest, no-fuss selections of all the restaurants in London, the Tramshed menu features a sumptuously fresh, premium selection of meats. As well as a range of tasty sharing starters like whipped chicken livers and Yorkshire pudding, Tramshed Shoreditch mains include the famous marbled sirloin steak and chips, or a whole free range chicken for sharing.

For dessert, Tramshed restaurant offers comforting old school favourites, like Ronnie’s apple pie & custard, or raspberry ripple cheesecake. As well as an expertly compiled wine list, signature Hix cocktail mixes are served.

Perfectly in tune with its uber-trendy Shoreditch surroundings, Tramshed London is the place to be seen in the city. Old Street Station is a 7-minute walk away.

Food was lovely, portion sizes were adequate, staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was interesting with a gallery downstairs and quirky nik nans around the whole place. We went for fathers day and there were a lot of families, it seemed all kids were welcome and my children loved the food and interesting features.

Delicious meal (asparagus starter, chicken and squash curry), attentive service, and great environment. Loved the Damien Hirst cow and chicken over the bar.

Excellent dinner and service. Further enhanced by the artwork and overall ambience. The gallery downstairs was very interesting and the staff were very welcoming and keen to discuss and highlight the various pieces. Highly recommend.

Very, very limited menu. Food was average if this was a normal cheap restaurant, definitely less than average for a place that creates great expectations, especially for how it is advertised on the web site. My steak on a salad was cold and rather chewy, my friends' chicken creepy in the presentation and not really tasty. The waitress didn't really explain well what we were going to eat. Luckily, the dark chocolate mousse was excellent. The place is beautiful, they did an excellent job with the lights (soft, but not the usual pitch dark with a useless candle on the table that most restaurants see as the right "ambiance"!) and finally a place where you can talk to the others sitting at the the table without having to shout. The place is great, but the food needs a good deal of improvement.

Dined on a Friday lunchtime- full and bustling though the tiled walls and lofty ceilings made it so that chatting amongst ourselves wasn't a struggle. Sat in one of the booths so had full view of the huge dining room and suspended Damien Hirst cow and cockerel! Chicken and chips was cooked to perfection and was an ample sharing portion- the feet-on chicken had us all in uproar. Despite reviews to the contrary we thought value for money was great for a restaurant in Shoreditch- we all left stuffed and the bill was no more than you'd pay in a mediocre chain. It's maybe ever so slightly towards the try-hard end of the hipster spectrum, but I think it definitely lives up to the hype.
