My fiancée and I had booked a special deal - Steak, half a lobster & Champagne for £25 per person. Just to try. And the entire dinner was a disaster.

The first table that we were given was just below an air conditioning unit which was blowing a very cold draft directly onto us. I asked the waitress if it could be switched off - as the temperature outside was bearly reaching 16C. She said yes but after 10 mn it became obvious that nothing had been done, so I asked to change table. The (small) table that was offered to us was directly below a (very) loud-speaker… we changed table again. Finally we were given a very large table - for the two of us - in a private room. Which was fine.

We were asked if we wanted to start with our two glasses of Champagne, and it became apparent that what we were served was not Champagne… it was a fairly average Prosecco!!! I enquired about it and we were offered not two but one glass of Champagne in compensation…

The food was average. The meat was ok but the half lobster looked like it had been cooked for such a long time that it had been reduced to the size of a large dry shrimp. When I enquired about it, I was told that it was probably due to the fact that there was only one person in the kitchen… too busy to produce quality food obviously.

To summarise : Dishonesty or mistake on the Champagne... I don't know but the food was very disappointing. AVOID.

The booking service online was great and I received a call from the restaurant on the morning of my booking to confirm my attendance. The restaurant us nicely decorated making it a relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant dining experience. We had the offer of steak, lobster with a glass of champagne for £25 per head which was well worth the money but unfortunately all our lobsters were slightly over cooked and quiet rubbery to eat. However the steak was amazing and cooked to each of our preference with some lovely crispy chips. The service was good but was a little slow at times. Attention was not always there, so we sat with our finished plates for a while until they were collected. Another little snag was they didn't have any decaff coffee so my friend didn't have anything and my other friend requested Earl Grey tea which I don't think the waitress knew what it was and we was given English Breakfast tea.
Overall the evening was good with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend for friends/family to try.

Excellent restaurant and happy hour was on from 1700-1900 so when we arrived early it was a nice cocktail treat. Lobster was devine and steak was cooked to perfection. The dessert wasnt on the deal but it was to die for, best sticky toffee pudding in a long time.
