A wonderful civilised treat with a friend. The library lounge is a beautiful room with fantastic views over Westminster. The staff were very attentive and the champagne was truly free-flow! A good choice of teas available and the delicate sandwiches and cakes perfect.
Thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and given the generous free flow champagne very good value.

The afternoon tea was lovely! The sandwiches and little cakes were delicious. The staff, in particular Lloyd, couldn't do enough for us. They accommodated our request for a window table, our glasses were constantly being topped up and we were even given a bottle of bubbles to sit in the bar with. A perfect afternoon!

I visited with my daughter. I ordered one gluten free afternoon tea, and one "normal". We go out to afternoon tea in London all the time, so have lots to compare with! The dining room was gorgeous, all that we'd hoped for and more! We enjoyed the tea-choosing ceremony, very interesting. The little starter was delicious, then came the main tea. My gluten free sandwiches turned out to be large rolls cut in half - the first time I've not been given finger sandwiches. I only ate less than half, as they were so dry. The gf scones were lovely- possibly the best I'd had. My daughter didn't fancy the idea of a savoury scone at first, but loved it when she tried it!
The gf cakes were little and dainty, but so boring! A pot of strange half-dried berries, two chocolate cakes, and....a chocolate chip cookie! In an afternoon tea?! I've never seen the like! I tried a corner, but as it seemed just like the cheap supermarket ones that I don't buy, I could eat it.
The "bubbles" though were the saving grace! In the end we had to stop the lovely waitress forcing more Cava into our glasses! As everyone else has said, definitely "free flowing"!
This is a lovely place, with very friendly staff, they just have to brush up on the food - as the non gluten free offerings weren't that much better, according to my daughter.

Lovely venue, wonderful ambience, attentive staff and the bubbles really are free flowing !! However was a bit disappointed with the sandwiches...could not taste horseradish in the beef, or mustard with the ham and using cream cheese instead of a proper full flavour English cheese was the biggest disappointment. Really enjoyed trying to decide from the large variety of teas which one to choose.
The cakes and scones were scrummy and very moreish. Overall a wonderful afternoon but please improve the fillings in the sandwiches.
