Small dining room excellent serving staff. Food was as good as I had hoped. Pickled herring to start followed by hake in a subtle curry sauce, tasted amazing. Treacle tart for dessert was a dream.

In addition, Nathan Outlaw’s first London restaurant has 2 versatile private rooms, where dining events can be tailor-made to suit your requirements.

The work of interior designer Nina Campbell, the sophisticated yet informal Outlaw’s restaurant dining room features bare tables, high exposed windows and elegant place settings. Knightsbridge Tube Station is 2 minutes’ walk away.

Masterclasses with Nathan are held every few months, offering guests the chance to meet the chef himself, and watch him in action.

We loved the restaurant and bar. Quiet, panelled, low key decor. Staff friendly and helpful. Food great value, and decent helpings. And we got the amuse Bouche and Delicious chocs thrown in

My first time in this restaurant and we went for an early lunch midweek. The restaurant is in The Capital hotel and from the moment we entered the building we were greeted by friendly professional staff. The décor is the first thing you notice. Traditional and modern mix. We sat in the bar for about 10 minutes and were shown to our table in the charming Outlaw's restaurant. A lovely position by the window and the table was set perfectly for 2 people. We had the menu with a Bellini cocktail included which was a lovely start to the meal. The food was delicious and started with appetisers followed by the 2 courses of our choice. We both had the Gurnan (spelling?) in an unusual roast chicken dressing with small mushrooms. It was a fish dish with a difference. Throughout the meal the service was excellent. Probably my only criticism is the cost of wine by the glass. The one recommended by the waiter was £15 per glass and poured from the bottle which I checked and I wasn't clear about whether that meant more than one glass. He did come back offering more! So that seemed very expensive. A glass of mineral water was also expensive but the menu at £29 per person was definitely good value for this sort of venue.

We had the winter menu in preference to the prix fixe deal and were underwhelmed. The two outstanding dishes were the cured monkfish and the rhubarb ice cream snadwich. Crab risotto was crab lite and very average. Lemon sole dish like the crab was flavoured with tarragon. Both dishes were predominantly white. The bass was overwhelmed by the seafood bisque. The final disappointment was that our petit fours were omitted with coffee. We felt very under appreciated from the beginning to the end.

We were a family party of 6, all of whom had the Tasting Menu, supplemented with an extra scallop course. Three of the party also had the cheese course. We did not have the wine flight. Without exception we all loved the whole dining experience. The food was the star of the show, but the service was also excellent. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. We were booked for 7pm and were concerned that the restaurant might lack atmosphere so early, but the service was pleasantly relaxed and the small dining room was soon full. We have subsequently discussed our favourite courses, and whilst the Brill,Oyster and Tarragon course was repeatedly mentioned, the Cured Monkfish and the Cod with Brown Shrimps were also highlights, as was the perfectly cooked and presented Scallop. Essentially we loved every course and I'm told the cheese selection was as good as everything else. The meal was far from cheap, but then this was a special celebration and one that we'll remember for a long while.
