We booked the set lunch at Outlaws as we were shopping in Knightsbridge. Everything was worthy of a Michelin star restaurant. Fantastic value and we will return again.

More about Outlaw's at The Capital

Michelin-starred Outlaw's at The Capital boasts an ever-changing range of British seafood, caught predominantly around the coast of Cornwall and sourced from trusted fisherman by head chef, Pete Biggs, and the illustrious Nathan Outlaw. The menu comes courtesy of Outlaw, who holds 2 Michelin stars at his eponymous restaurant. Set in the 5-star Capital hotel, this exclusive addition to the Knightsbridge neighbourhood is housed between Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

Expect Outlaw favourites like crispy Cornish oysters with cucumber, rich shellfish stew, brill with crab and asparagus, roast turbot on-the-bone, and chargrilled lamb rack. A fine complementing wine list is matched to the dishes at Outlaw's in Knightsbridge. In addition, Nathan Outlaw’s first London restaurant has 2 versatile private rooms, where dining events can be tailor-made to suit your requirements.

The work of interior designer Nina Campbell, the sophisticated yet informal Outlaw’s restaurant dining room features bare tables, high exposed windows and elegant place settings. Knightsbridge Tube Station is 2 minutes’ walk away.

Masterclasses with Nathan are held every few months, offering guests the chance to meet the chef himself, and watch him in action.

We booked a lunch here for our wedding anniversary, a deal through London Foof Festival. The restaurant was smart but also relaxed and welcoming. As it was a set menu, we did not have the agony of making choices. The haddock in batter was exceptionally good and the fish tasted the way fish is to in 'the good old days'. The sourcing of ingredients is clearly a large part of what gives this Knightsbridge boutique/fish restaurant its edge. The staff were all friendly and comfortable in their roles.

Myself and a friend made the trip to London to visit Outlaws for lunch. We found the whole experience amazing! The waiting staff were welcoming and attentive throughout, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and of high standard! I had the plaice as main course and it was cooked beautifully. The chocolate tart was probably the best I ever tasted. There were some lovely extra touches like some hand made chocolates at the end of our meal.

The starter was disappointing, The lobster risotto was definitively overlooked and too salty. The table did not have a table cloth but place mats... Not to be expected in such a restaurant ! The menu selection was too limited... In particular for the desserts. I could not find anything that was not chocolate nor ice cream!

The set lunch is excellent value, the carte not so sure. Portions in the set lunch have been fine, tending to small but the other bits and pieces make up. Food quality consistently good without being spectacular. The fish obviously a strength and they avoid the prevalent restaurant issue of under-cooking by any normal palette. Service enthusiastic and generally efficient without being overly obtrusive. The odd glitch though on the latest visit - forgetting to bring the bread, (tap) water not being topped up. On this occasion, it was also hard to understand the food descriptions - fairly thick foreign accents and took the descriptions way too fast (confidence lacking a bit, I suspect). This is not a zenophobic comment, I hope, certainly not intended to be but there's no point in asking about dishes if you can't understand the reply no matter how hard you listen.

The Thursday BYO with no corkage a great innovation - hopefully not an off season gimmick only. Keep it up, Capital!

food very good, drink rather expensive - bottle of wine more than price of 3 courses for one person!
