More about Hudson's House

Housed within Soho's St Giles Hotel, Hudson's House, London serves a British-led menu with modern-European influences. This sultry late night spot exudes 1930s glamour, and boasts a sweeping bar manned by theatrical cocktail waiters.

Locally sourced, seasonal ingredients are used whenever possible and daily specials showcase the chefs’ imaginative flair. The modern Hudson’s menu features dishes like grilled sea bass with a light salad, and grilled corn-fed chicken breast with deep-fried mashed potato.

For dessert try Hudson’s Mess, the restaurant’s own take on a classic Eton Mess, or the daily-changing cheese board for something more savoury. The contemporary food menu is matched by an exciting array of cocktails, fine wines, house-brewed lagers and real ales.

Husdon's House in Soho fuses 1930’s glamour with a modern finish with a central bar, private booths, ornate sofas and candlelit tables. Tottenham Court Road Tube Station is just 2 minutes’ walk away.

We never got to dine here because there was no table for us ,because they had a big party arrived. We were very disappointed because this was a anniversary dinner for us both. They did offer us a table where there were no settings and the table at the bottom of the room was dirty . We are booked in again this evening after seeing a show but we will cancel and go elsewhere

The meal itself was lovely. A fairly short menu however the food was very well cooked and extremely nice and we enjoyed our meal and the service was prompt. Our waitress was very helpful. However, what we didn't realise, and hadn't been told, until we got to the restaurant, was that a major refurbishment was taking place, which did affect the ambience quite significantly. It was cramped to get into the restaurant as what I presume was the reception area for the hotel was behind a black curtain, encroaching into the space in the bar area. It wasn't clear who to speak to, to let them know that we'd arrived and would like our table. I eventually spoke to a member of the bar staff who curtly told me to go to the other end of the bar. Which we did. And he then came down to speak to us there anyway, which seemed a bit odd. He was quite rude. I do feel it should have been made clear that a refurbishment was taking place, as that clearly had an effect on the bar area, and if we had known that, we probably wouldn't have gone.

I can't recommend this place enough. Had an amazing meal here. Had ordered a martini but didn't like it. The manager had observed this without me saying and just whizzed up another cocktail for. Excellent food and service was impeccable! Ideal restaurant for pre-theatre show as only a 2 min walk from dominion theatre!
