Set in a beautiful building and with very welcoming air conditioning on a hot and muggy day was disappointed that the food and value for money let it down. Food quite unremarkable - no better than some of the Italian high street chains. My husbands starter of baby courgette salad was little more than a few salad leaves. We both had tagliatelle bolognese which had little taste and not much meat content either. I found the pasta a little too 'al dente' for my taste. My dessert of ice cream and sorbet was really nice and the highlight of the entire meal. Very nice toilets with an interesting flushing system, however I won't be returning.

Warmly greeted. Table service was friendly and attentive. Food was good, imaginitively prepared and well presented.
My table was fine but some are a little close together - which would make some business, or private, conversations a little difficult.

The setting is wonderful. i fell in love with the toilets - they are super. The waitress was lovely and attentive. We had the offer menu, with limited choice but enough to keep us happy. The pate was wonderful with the caper berries. The squid was nice but a fairly small portion. The taglitelle ragu was yummy and I followed it up with a wonderful cherry frozen yoghurt. The offer included a nice glass of prosecco to. £30 well spent.

We booked for the £30 three course set menu that also came with a glass of prosecco which was great value for money! The food was lovely, and in good sized portions too (I could barely finish my starter of a wonderfully creamy chicken liver pate). Three people had the tagliatelle bolognese who all thought it was delicious and the pan-fried cod I had was done beautifully. Service was great, very attentive and ther restaurant was buzzing by about 8pm. The restaurant's in the old Bank of Scotland head branch and is really very grand, think it would make a lovely venue for an office Christmas dinner... I would definitely go back!
