More about Hixter
Borne out of the huge success enjoyed by the Hix breed of restaurant from Mark Hix, Hixter is a masterful steak and chicken diner in London. The restaurant sits above award-winning cocktail bar, Mark’s Bar, designed to fit into downtown New York while championing the best British producers.
The Hixter menu impresses with large-scale dishes such as the giant Yorkshire starter and whipped chicken liver starters. Show-stopping mains include a whole roast Indian rock chicken and mammoth half-kilogram sharing steaks. Seasonal, local ingredients are used across the board, from the turf to the succulent garlic butter roast lobster surf that can be added to upgrade it.
Filling a handsome and unusual spot in the Old East India Warehouse, Hixter’s distinctive décor is marked by specially commissioned artworks from leading British artists, hanging on rustic, exposed brickwork. Mark’s Bar follows in the footsteps of its much-loved twin in Soho, with historic cocktails in the downtown setting of smoky mirrors and luxurious leather chesterfields.
Hixter is housed within the Old East India Warehouse in Devonshire Square, and is a 5-minute walk from Liverpool Street Station.
