We made the reservation for BAR Tjuvholmen Social Eating, but it turned out that they had changed the menu and the dining concept starting the same day as we were having dinner there. We didn't get any info via mail or text about this, but would most likely have changed our reservation if we knew because the new menu was not great at all based on what we could read (not to our taste and boring at first glance). We understand that the chefs might need some time to adjust to the new menu and the staff to learn it, but it seemed like the waiter hadn't even read it. From the dishes we ordered 3/8 tasted good, the rest was either dry or tasteless. The drinks we ordered were very good, and the place itself has great atmosphere and interior. We had the table for several hours and were satisfied with that.

At first I was really pleased with the service where the waitress frequently came to our table, he was pleasant and service minded. The food was amazing and the drinks was okey. I enjoyed the music and the atmosphere was quite nice. I do really enjoy Bar Tjuvholmen. Since we cannot walk to the bar it is important that the waitresses is observant. Later that night it was impossible to get any contact so I walked over to the waitress myself to look at the meny and place an order. The staff passed me three times without noticing me and I even tried to say "hi, can you please help me?". The head water saw me at the end, walked over to me and said "your reservation ends in 20 minutes and other people have booked the table. What do you want? Another drink?". I replied "I know, but may I at least order a drink before we leave?". He grabbed the meny from me and answered "Yes, but you have to leave the table before 23:45 pm. Other people are waiting for the table and your reservation last for only 2 hours". I got my drink and felt like I was being kicked out. The head waiter was stressed and notified me several times "remember the time" while I was at my table and drinking up (no, I was not drunk at all). We are paying customers who ordered several meals and multiple drinks this night. I honestly expected a bit nicer experience than this. I was really frustrated and disappointed at the end. What you could do better? Inform me that our booking is soon over but give us some kind of solution - example: "Yes, you may order your drink and we can bring it to you. We have to remind you that the reservation ends in 20 min but if you like, you may drink next to the bar (where there were some free chairs available)". The point is that you are welcome to remind me about my reservation and the rules in regards to the current restrictions - because everybody should be reminded. But what you should not do is to make me feel unwelcome. Thanks.

God mat, men dessverre dårlig service som overskygget maten. Når man gang på gang må vente på servitør for å be om å få noe å drikke, så blir det irriterende. Og alt for trangt mellom bordene nå i "Korona-time"

Vi hadde bestilt og fikk bord rett ved døren. Sterk vind! Byttet bord og endte med utsikt til oppvasken og toalettene. Alle ansatte løp forbi hele tiden. Vi spiste 8 retter. Vi har vært mange ganger på Vulkan og hos dere. Denne gangen var menyen og kvaliteten en stor skuffelse.
