Ingierstrand Bad Restaurant was first built in 1934 to accompany the remarkable bathing resort in the east of Oslo. Stunning beaches, piers and the much-loved diving boards have rendered this a veritable institution come summer. Considered an iconic building in Norway’s architectural landscape, Ingierstrand Bad is a prime example of Norwegian functionalism.
Today, the restaurant Ingierstrand Bad serves lunches, an à la carte menu as well as 3 to 5-course menus during the high season. When the weather permits, al fresco dining doesn’t get much better than this: from the large outdoor area, the views over the water and the beach are delightful. A visit to the beach in fact, goes hand in hand with a meal at Ingierstrand Bad.
Offering seafood and grilled dishes, Ingierstrand Bad uses the season’s best produce to compose its dishes. On Sundays, diners can opt for the buffet or the brunch menu. Plus there’s a separate lunch menu, outdoor menu and kids menu.
Take the train from Oslo S to Kolbotn or the bus 907 direct to Ingierstrand. Parking opportunities around the restaurant are easy to find.
