Inspired by London’s most famous fictional detective, Sherlock’s Bar & Grill showcases AA Rosette-awarded British and European cuisine. The open plan dining room features a relaxed open kitchen for full views of the chefs.
Making use of specialist cooking techniques like the charcoal grill and wood burning oven, the Sherlock’s menu features rich, moreish flavours like whole lemon sole with shellfish butter, or veal paillard with wood-baked aubergine. As well as chic after-dinner cocktails and fine cognacs, tempting desserts at Sherlock’s restaurant on Baker Street include banana upside-down tart or soft-centred chocolate torte.

It was a lovely tea party but i did expect there to be a Sherlock theme with the way the table would be presented. So it was a little disappointing not to experience that.

My daughter and I booked afternoon tea the same afternoon with no problem. The reception at Sherlock's was quite casual, not formal, but polite. We were sat in the rear lounge area which was nice enough but there was no real atmosphere and our view was of some decorators. I would say this is a good one for a wet afternoon rather than a sunny one. The sandwiches were standard fillings: ham, cheese, salmon and egg. Our favourite was the salmon, which was generous and the bread was nice. The egg was good too as often mayonnaise can be overpowering but not in this case. The cheese one was disappointing as we prefer mature cheddars but overall the flavours were good and it felt freshly made. The scones were nice with the usual accompaniments and the desserts had us beaten: two pieces of pecan tart, one of a Bakewell tart and one of rich chocolate brownie/tart. Great if you have a very sweet tooth! Overall we had a lovely 90 minutes....more to do with us chatting than the venue per se but the food was fine and the staff polite. The ladies washrooms were a bit smelly (drains) but they were clean and had nice handsoap and handcream.

The hotel is very nice, the staff (Kostas) was very attentive to our needs, and the whole experience very relaxed.

Friendly and accommodating staff. I as unfortunate as my steak wasn't the best piec of meat. My friend however enjoyed theirs. All the rest of the party were happy and enjoyed their meals. They did tak the meal off the bill and gave me a large glass of wine

Good attentive helpful friendly polite staff. Steak was fatty sadly and largest part of it inedible. Humus and calamari starters good. Wine excellent.

The staff were lovely but the website said a gluten free option for the cream tea was available, it turned out to be sandwiches on stale gluten free bread and 3 cakes (no scones)...I'm pretty good with a lot of sugar but there is no way I could eat 3 cakes in one sitting. There was mininal effort mate to hide the fact all elements of the gluten free cream tea were store bought so the £20 price is a bit ridiculous.

We got an afternoon tea there. The food is decent, and online-confirmation service is super efficient. The location is very convenient and easy to find. I heard there are some vouchers online that people could find (but we didn't look it up before hands), and apparently it is a pretty good deal.
