Beautiful room The food was ok but the wait from the moment we ordered to being served was far too long (3/4 hour). This rather ruined our experience.

Food and service very good. The wine - a Spanish white, £40 - was enjoyable but overpriced I thought. The room is very appealing. The table top was chipped and looked as though it should be replaced. I would rather not have been able to hear the music from the bar.

The overall experience was not great The head waiter never asked once if everything was ok Got as starter stonecold bread instead of toast with my pate Just a few green leaved plonked on plate Instead of getting little caraf with tap water a glass This is 5 star hotel!,, Only good thing was didnt had to pay for starter as i made a complaint to waitress Opinion never again

Tired, stuck in the 1970s as far as I could tell with a pretty unimaginative menu. Virtually empty restaurant. Slow service with a 30 minute wait for a calf's liver main (takes minutes) and a salad niciose. The salad didn't have any anchovies or olives and the dressing, if there was any, was totally without taste. My friend said the liver was acceptable. Coffee was not hot, stewed and undrinkable. Will never return.

Food was not to a standard I would have expected from a high end restaurant, I actually think they have lost their way on who to cater for. The ambience and character is so good, their food should be marked according. So unfortunately I was taking my wife out for a fantastic dining evening and was left disappointed...

Do not miss an opportunity to dine at the Acanthus restaurant at the Randolph Hotel. The food, the service, the dining room itself - all are perfect. I would say it is the most beautiful and atmospheric dining room in Oxford. We had the shepherds pie, which we highly recommend, and one of the best salads of our trip. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for making our meal so special.
