On the iconic Pall Mall, Davy’s at St James in London offers the traditional British food and fine vintage wines which the Davy’s brand is known for. With sawdust on the floor and candlelit tables in cosy nooks, Davy’s at St James offers a rustic city location to dine, or enjoy regular events including wine tastings.
The Davy’s at St James menu begins with the likes of duck liver pâté with toasted sourdough bread and pickled cucumber, and Cornish crab cakes with dill mayonnaise. Matured chargrilled steaks are served with delicious sauces and triple-cooked chips.
Tempting mains range from Davy’s bangers and mash with Madeira gravy and homemade onion rings to king prawn and crab linguine. Vegetarian dishes include the wild mushroom risotto with Portobello mushroom, and the superfood salad with grilled halloumi.
An extensive list of world wines offers vintages dating back to the 1970s, with plenty or real ales and ciders to sample too. Davy’s at St James pub is a 6-minute walk from Green Park Tube Station.

Davy's at St. James was amazing, very friendly staff, food was amazing, we came there as part of the London restaurant festival so we had a set menu, which was all very nice. Suitable for vegetarians too.

For me, this is primarily a wine bar and the food takes second place (it is certainly popular for wine drinkers). The service was friendly and speedy, but I was disappointed in my leek and potato soup as it was just warm and not that tasty. Fish goujons were fine. Puds were OK - treacle tart or Eton Mess sundae or Cheese dish. So, all passed muster. The ceiling is rather low so hearing was difficult with neighbouring noisy party. That said, this is clearly a popular place and has a good choice of wines.
