Présentation du restaurant

Described as ‘excellent’ by Harden’s, and set in one of London's historic 'wet fish' shops in West Hampstead, Wet Fish Café rediscovered its roots and showcases the Art Deco tiles which lined the walls during its long history. This quirky backdrop lends authenticity to a friendly café by day and lively brasserie by night, the diverse Wet Fish Café menu headed by fresh, ethically caught fish and seafood.

With daily specials straight from the market, Wet Fish Café serve the catch with pride. Start with mackerel paté or crispy squid with sweet chilli mayo, before moving on to organic salmon with leeks and spinach purée or scallops fettucine.

Meaty venison and fillet steak prove it’s not all fish, with vegetarian pasta specials on the menu too. The brunch selection is great for a lazy weekend lunch, where eggs Benedict and French toasted brioche pair up with indulgent hot chocolate, coffees and fruit-packed smoothies.

Regular live soul and jazz lend smooth and funky vibes to Wet Fish brasserie nights, along with a serious cocktail and wine list. Easy to find on West End Lane, Wet Fish Café is an 8-minute walk from West Hampstead Train Station.

    the next nice experience after some dinners before, always a good choice for a dinner with family and / or friends; there are some new dishes now as main courses on the menue and they all are prepared "with love and expertice"; due to the relative shortness of the menue all ingredients used are really fresh and of great taste;

    The food here is gorgeous. It's a small and cosy restaurant with plenty of character, and very cheap too, considering the high standard of the food. This was my third visit and I'll definitely be visiting again in the near future.

    I am a local and had shockingly never been to The Wet Fish Cafe for dinner. I had the loveliest meal in particular the starter quinoa salad and the warm chocolate pudding. Will be back soon to try the braised cauliflower. So nice as a vegetarian to have more options than just pasta on the menu. Great service and ambience can never go wrong with a room full of candles. Will be back very soon.

    Really delicious food with good veggie options and good service if a little slow but maybe because the restaurant is always busy

    This is a hidden gem - the food is consistently delicious and the service is great. Feels like a little French bistro. The early bird menu is incredible value - I recommend this place to all my friends!

    very tasty dishes esp. the mixed starter, good wine menue and nice service, so all seems to be in a well working condition at The Wet Fish Cafe ... ... BUT : that was not our 1st visit, it was our 5th or 6th evening over a half year`s period and now I think there should be a change in the menue ... generally speaking perhaps three times during a year of 12 months ... esp. as one of the special meals ( the fresh fish on the hand-written menue ) was finally gone at 20:45 hour when we started our dinner ... may be it is possible to install some cieling pannels to soften the noise of all the guest talking, the clatter of all the plates and glasses ( I am now 62 years old and a little bit sensitive to noise ... thinking I am not the only person wishing a more intimate and private atmosphere ... )
