Offering stunning views of the sea from the dining room, Harry Ramsden’s Scarborough serves up the ultimate British favourite: fish & chips. The retro interior features a 1950s-style counter, glossy tiling and chequerboard floors.
Famed for its classic fish and chips and a closely guarded secret recipe, Harry Ramsden’s restaurants are a true favourite amongst the nation. Found in various UK locations, Harry Ramsden’s is a British institution, having served delicious fish dishes and British classics since 1928, when Harry Ramsden set up his first takeaway store.
Fresh and carefully sourced, the cod, plaice and haddock are deliciously battered and served with homemade chunky chips, and soused with salt and vinegar. Beautifully fresh fish isn’t all Harry Ramsden’s is famous for: the menu boasts great British dishes such as the mouth-watering premium pie and mash, or the chicken and scampi special. Harry Ramsden’s chip shop also has a fun and tasty kids' menu for the little ones, and signature dishes for senior diners.
Harry Ramsden’s Scarborough is just a 5-minute drive from Scarborough Rail Station.

Well - there is nothing to report as we turned up for our dinner and were told by highly unprofessional member of staff that restaurant will not be opened for some tine due to shortage of staff - when I told her we have booking with 2 young children and disabled peon - we were told it doesn't make any difference - I think for such a famous chain of restaurants its really poor and will not recommend or go there no more.

After our first proper stay in Scarborough for years we decided to have a Saturday teatime treat of fish n chips. Unfortunately however we made the mistake of going to Harry Ramsdens on the Scarborough foreshore. One would have thought that a name synonymous with fish n chips would have been the best place to eat. How wrong can one be?We sat upstairs before the rush and placed our order. After waiting some 25 minutes we were beginning to wonder if our meal would ever arrive. A group on the next table, and in before us even questioned the wait for their own order. When it finally arrived, the cod was over cooked (almost burnt), and tasted nothing like cod, the chips portion resembled a child's serving, and the mushy peas were luke warm to say the least. For a price of [$] each "not including drinks" I would have expected in these hard pressed times spending [$] a much better level of service and quality than we received at this outlet. Had I been asked at the time of paying if everything was alright then my true feelings would have been vented. We decided to pay and leave. This is one Fish n Chip shop I will not be recommending OR spending my hard earned cash at ever again!!!

we dined at 11.45 am . we had to wait quite a while for our meal and the waitress could have been friendlier but the food was excellent, so it was worth the wait .

Slow does not even convey how poor the service was and 90% of the food ended up straight in the dustbin.
