Set in an old coaching house dating back to the 17th century, and retaining many of its original features, The Kings Arms – Cookham is a restored village pub with a large beer garden for warm weather. Just a stone’s throw from the Thames, the pub is decked out with rustic wooden furniture, a fireplace & cosy banquettes, and serves unfussy British food.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Kings Arms menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Kings Arms – Cookham cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. The roast lunch was very good. Nice vegetables, meat was very well cooked so we enjoyed it. There was a wait as somehow a large table after us got their meals before us but it was ok.

Brilliant food amd atmosphere. Didn't feel rushed even though there was a large party also in. Constant communication on how long they would be. Couldn't fault in anyway.

Great friendly service which was very prompt. Very friendly atmosphere - good for children rather than a quiet dine for two. Food good.
