Présentation du restaurant
Boasting a patio for al fresco dining, The King William IV is a refurbished country-style pub serving a selection of modern British dishes. A naturally-lit bar area & a restaurant with wooden floors, stone floors & fur-lined chairs make this gastro pub an idyllic retreat.
With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The King William IV menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.
The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The King William IV bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.
The King William IV in Essex is a 3-minute walk from Chigwell Tube Station.

Service was painfully slow. Party of 4. 1 hour 10 minutes in and 2 starters served and we were chasing for main course. Did not wait for desert. They knew it was a bad experience and removed cost of starters from our bill without being asked.

Had an excellent dining experience at this very vibrant restaurant. The menu was extensive and the quality of the food outstanding. The servers were very attentive, they didn't hassle us but were there when needed. Would certainly recommend it.

We were a party of three who found the service efficient and pleasant. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. Interesting quirky decor - didn't find the headless portraits attractive, but they were mercifully in a dark light. Would certainly come again.
