Server was lovely, the meal itself though was quite disappointing... We both chose the roast dinner- one vegetarian one lamb, the lamb was overcooked- no pink in the middle but otherwise not overly dry, the roast potatoes were hard and dry inside, and the Yorkshire pudding was stale. My friends dinner wasn’t much different either - no Yorkshire on hers and the Mediterranean vegetables on both dinners seemed a little odd with the rest of the food. We didn’t want to complain as we had to leave swiftly and the next two tables were having a little moan at the waitress too.

Located very much out in the country and a lovely olde-worlde pub/restaurant with lots of beams and an open fire. Menu offered good choice for all three courses and staff were attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Food was delicious and plenty of it and tables were spread out so not on top of other diners. All in all a very good experience.

For many years I’ve always loved the character of this restaurant. Staff are friendly. However on this visit, the smell coming from the disabled toilet was overwhelming into the restaurant area. When the door was closed the smell disappeared, but the door kept having to be closed by diners eating nearby. This clearly needs addressing.

Lovely venue, smashing staff, a great menu & lovely grub. Half our party were unexpectedly delayed by traffic but the staff were very accommodating with our booking time. We will return. Highly recommended.

Nice friendly pub/ restaurant have been 3 times before and each time we have enjoyed our meal good varied menu lots of choice. Staff really friendly too and know the menu if you have any questions,service very good no long waits either. My only small gripe is we have sat in the same corner twice and it's quite chilly so when we go back hopefully we won't sit in the same place !

I love the ambience. Open fires. Food was good, slightly cold. My only comment was the waitresses referring to us as luvies and darling. Not appropriate, rather annoying.

Atmosphere Welcome Food and Service was excellent and we , a party of 4, had a good time. Good value too. Being a Friday three of our party chose traditionally battered fish and chips . Fish was great and batter crisp and definitely recommended.

This pub is in a lovely setting but the food was very disappointing. My sister lives in Barcelona so really fancied a nice roast dinner as that isn't something she can get in a restaurant over there. The 'roast' potatoes were bland sliced new potatoes and there were no pigs in blankets. She said it was the worst roast dinner she had ever eaten. I had a pie that was full of air and hardly any filling. Overall a very disappointing dining experience. The waitresses and bar staff were lovely and very friendly- but clearly rushed off their feet as our dinner plates were left in front of us for an hour after we'd finished. Other diners were clearing their tables themselves!
