Brought to you by Alan Yau, whose other restaurants include Yauatcha and Hakkasan, The Duck and Rice mixes classic British pub style and authentic Chinese recipes. This trendy hideaway features a striking, geometric-stained glass frontage, and a unique digital jukebox that allows diners to pick their own playlist.

Bursting with Chinese favourites, The Duck and Rice menu spans from sharing-style dim sum plates, to time-honoured rice and noodle dishes. Specials change monthly, while championed signature dishes include jasmine-smoked pork ribs, curried crab, and Cantonese lobster. Desserts at Duck and Rice in Soho include peanut butter ice cream, or decadent chocolate pudding.

An impressive bar stock pays tribute to the West End’s neighbouring pubs, with cask ales, local beers, and Pilsner served from a shimmering copper tank on offer. Along with a selective world wine list, artisan gin & tonics and unique ‘beer cocktail’ concoctions are mixed at the bar.

    The food here is consistently excellent. The menu selection is now a little smaller post-Covid, but the quality of the food remains high. We have continued to enjoy dining here pre- and post-Covid. The tables are well distanced, and the staff and restaurant have secure and compliant safety processes in place. We would whole-heartedly recommend this place!

    Excellent food and great service! Highly recommend trying the black pepper mock meat, it was our favourite dish!

    The restaurant was lovely, I'd recommend sitting upstairs rather than downstairs, it seems less noisy. The drinks were great and the food was amazing, I'd really recommend the venison puffs.

    Really nice, good service! We ordered crispy prawn wontons, chicken gyozas, 1/4 duck, rice, sweet and sour pork and yakisoba noodles! All lovely! However in terms of value for money I do feel you get all of this for cheaper and elsewhere/ in Chinatown.

    Service was quite slow and the food came Luke warm one of our mains came cold. However the food did taste good!!

    Slightly above average Chinese food, friendly but chaotic service, excellent atmosphere - the chicken with cashew was incredible, as was the duck. The wasabi prawns were a little sickly, and the salt and pepper squid could have been crunchier.

    Great food as always. Service was a little slow and inattentive. It was far too hot as the aircon was switched off or not working so that dampened the experience a bit. Good to see the eat out to help out scheme was extended which made it great value for money.

    I have visited the restaurant for dinner twice now and was seated upstairs on both occasions. The interior design is lovely and the atmosphere very pleasant, the staff were very friendly and professional as well! The restaurant was busy and very lively during our last visit so service was a little slow, but I personally prefer longer dining and breaks between my meals so didn't mind this at all. The food was excellent and very nicely presented. We really enjoyed our prawn crackers, vegetable spring rolls and dumplings as a starter, but our favourite was the roast duck as the main with a side of rice and broccoli. Half a duck was just right for the two of us as a portion and the flavour was incredible! What will definitely keep us coming back is the beer: the Pilsner tanks are the reason we chose to book this restaurant on our first occasion. Red wine options and prosecco are lovely as well. While the prices are a little steep, the quality of the food and great drink options justify the splurge, we will definitely come back again and recommend to friends as a great treat meal out!
