This is the first time we have eaten in the restaurant. The food was excellent. There is a large menu. The staff were very professional and friendly. I will definitely eat here again.

My friend and I had afternoon tea at the Queens Hotel, Leeds and to be honest I was a little disappointed. The bread on the sandwiches was hard and the fillings very bland. The scone was nice but overall for the cost I did not feel that it was good quality. I have had much better afternoon teas for much less money and I would not book it again.

The restaurant was moved from down stairs to the main bar area last week.the atmosphere was not as good, there was no intimacy feel about it. A lot of visitors go straight to the bar for drinks only and the area can get rowdy.

We had spent our wedding night at The Queens Hotel 4 years ago, and decided to give them a visit to have afternoon tea. I mentioned it was our anniversary in my booking form and when we turned up, the table was decorated for us with no prompting or asking for anything special, and the chefs had prepared a surprise addition to the afternoon tea of a beautifully decorated plate with 'Happy Anniversary' and a delicious eton mess. We couldn't finish everything and needed to take some of the treats away with us! As always wonderful service and they go above and beyond for special occasions. The room was beautiful too. The afternoon tea itself was very classic, not as modern in choice as other establishments but a very high standard. We would highly recommend this - thank you.

The food was excellent, well cooked and presented, and very generous portions. My wife had the chicken Caesar salad as starter, while I enjoyed the mussels. We both opted for the swordfish, which was very tasty and set on couscous, broccoli, cheese and multi-coloured salad. She couldn’t finish her portion, so the maitre d offered to wrap it, so we had the rest for lunch the next day. The maitre d was from Romania, where we had visited a few months ago, so we had a good chat: he was a most entertaining host, with a great sense of humour, and our waitress was efficient and attentive. One scoop of sorbet, for which 2 spoons were thoughtfully provided, complemented the meal perfectly: I would have liked to try a dessert, but, alas, there was no room! Our only concern was that the price of wine was too high.

Staff were very friendly but service was slow and the resturant wasn't very busy at all. Food was fine for the price.
